PRESENTATION
Data on climate change is still scanty in The Gambia, especially relevant data at local community level, that will enable localized ecosystem-based adaptation measures.
UNCDF under the Jobs, Skills and Finance Programme in technical partnership with Centre de Suive Ecologique (CSE), has developed a Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) that is aimed at analyzing current and future climate risks in the targeted wards and also established a local-based climate information system, known as LISA.
The CRVA will provide information on climate risks that will primarily be used to guide prioritization of community investments. The WDCs supported under UNCDF will be required to collect or update climate risk data and its components (vulnerability, exposure and hazards) to ensure that prioritized investments contribute to climate resilience at local level. LISA presents a database and platform for evolution of climate risk analysis at local level in The Gambia.
